Description:
Venofer is an intravenous iron used to replenish iron stores and correct iron deficiency anemia in CKD patients with iron deficiency anemia.

Venofer helps your body make healthy red blood cells by supplying iron, a necessity for red blood cell production.



Directions:
Your healthcare professional will administer an injection of Venofer® in his or her office or clinic. Depending on your individual condition, your healthcare professional will determine how many injections you will need.



Side Effects:
Serious hypersensitivity reactions (serious allergic reactions) have been reported in patients taking Venofer, including serious and life threatenng reactions (shock, loss of consciousness, collapse, convulsion, severe difficulty in breathing). Hypotension (low blood pressure) has been reported in patients who receive IV iron whether or not they are on dialysis. Hypotension (low blood pressure) following administration of Venofer may be related to how fast and how much of the drug is given.

The most common side effects of Venofer observed in clinical trials are: low blood pressure (hypotension), taste disturbance, swelling in arms and lets, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, dizziness, and high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
