Directions:
USE THIS MEDICINE immediately before meals as directed by your doctor. This medicine is given as an injection under the skin (SQ) in the abdomen or thigh.

DO NOT MIX this medicine in the same syringe with insulin. Administer this medicine and insulin as separate injections at least 2 inches apart from one another or in different areas.

ROTATE INJECTION SITES so that you do not use the same site repeatedly. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about your medicine or giving injections.
If this medicine contains particles, is discolored or cloudy, or if the vial is cracked or damaged in any way, do not use it. Always use a new syringe and needle when giving your self an injection of this medicine.

WHEN DRAWING A DOSE INTO A SYRINGE, be sure to follow the procedure demonstrated to you to prevent contamination of the vial, syringe, or medicine. Never touch the rubber stopper of the vial or the needle of the syringe with your fingers.

CAREFULLY CHECK that you have drawn the correct dose before administration.

KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine.

BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. This medicine may cause dizziness.

DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to this medicine. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks.

USE OF ALCOHOL may increase your risk of low blood sugar.

THIS MEDICINE, WHEN USED WITH INSULIN, MAY CAUSE HYPOGLYCEMIA (low blood sugar levels). Signs of hypoglycemia include increased heartbeat, headache, chills, sweating, tremor, increased hunger, changes in vision, nervousness, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, or fainting. It is a good habit to carry glucose tablets or get to treat low blood sugar. If you do not have a reliable source of glucose available, eat a quick source of sugar such as table sugar, honey, or candy, or drink a glass of orange juice or non-diet soda to quickly raise your blood sugar level.

TELL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY about the reaction. To prevent hypoglycemia, eat meals on a regular schedule and do not skip meals.

THIS MEDICINE MAY AFFECT the way other medicines are absorbed into your body, especially if you take them within 1 hour before or 2 hours after using this medicine. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about how you should take any other medicines with this medicine.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING THIS MEDICINE IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of this medicine.

FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGANANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy.

IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Side Effects:
SIDE EFFECTS
that may occur while using this medicine include nausea; vomiting; headache; loss of appetite; stomach upset or pain; tiredness; dizziness; coughing; sore throat; joint tenderness; pain, swelling, redness, or itching at the injection site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor.

CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience persistent or severe nausea.

CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience symptoms of low blood sugar (such as increased heartbeat, headache, chills, sweating, tremor, increased hunger, changes in vision, nervousness, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, or fainting). An allergic reaction to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur.
