Description:
This medicine is a combination atypical antipsychotic and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat depression in patients with bipolar disorder. It is also used to treat depression that has not responded to 2 other medicines.



Directions:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. THIS MEDICINE COMES with a Medication Guide. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. This medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. Take this medicine in the evening, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. DO NOT SUDDENLY STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE without checking with your doctor. Side effects may occur. They may include mental or mood changes, numbness or tingling of the skin, dizziness, confusion, headache, trouble sleeping, or unusual tiredness. You will be closely monitored when you start this medicine and whenever a change in dose is made. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat, moisture, and light. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. CONTINUE TO TAKE THIS MEDICINE even if you feel better. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.



Side Effects:
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur during treatment include blurred vision, constipation, decreased sexual desire or ability, dizziness, drowsiness, diarrhea, dry mouth, increased appetite, sore throat, weakness, and weight gain. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience abnormal thoughts; black or bloody stools; chest pain; confusion; decreased coordination; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; fainting; fever; joint pain; memory loss; new or worsening agitation, anxiety, panic attacks, aggressiveness, impulsiveness, irritability, hostility, exaggerated feeling of well being, restlessness, or inability to sit still; persistent, painful erection; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; rigid muscles; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness, headache, or trouble sleeping; suicidal thoughts or attempts; swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; symptoms of high blood sugar (eg, increased thirst, hunger, urination; unusual weakness); symptoms of dehydration (eg, decreased sweating or urination, severe or persistent dry mouth, feeling very hot or thirsty); symptoms of stroke (eg, one-sided weakness, slurred speech); tremor; trouble concentrating, speaking, swallowing, or walking; uncontrolled muscle movements (eg, arm or leg movements, twitching of the face or tongue, jerking or twisting); unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual swelling, hoarseness, or sweating; unusual or severe mental or mood changes; vision changes; worsening of depression. If you develop any of these symptoms, tell your doctor immediately. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing.
