Description:
Previcox is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) belonging to the coxib class and is used to control pain and inflammation due to osteoarthritis in dogs. A once a day dose that provides therapeutic pain relief for 24 hours after treatment. Provides fast pain relief and outstanding improvement of lameness in a convenient, flavored tablet



Directions:
The usual dose of Previcox in dogs is 2.27mg/lb or 5mg/kg given by mouth once a day. Previcox may be given with or without food.



Cautions:
Side effects of Previcox may include changes in appetite, gastro-intestinal changes such as vomiting, diarrhea, black or bloody stools. Changes in behavior, incoordination, seizures or aggression. Jaundice which may show as yellowing of the gums, skin and whites of eyes. Increase in drinking. Changes in the frequency of urination. Skin irritation, skin redness, crusting, scabs or scratching. Weight loss may also be a side effect.

This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it or other NSAIDs. Previcox should only be used in dogs 7 weeks of age or older and over 6 pounds bodyweight. The use of Previcox in pregnant, lactating or breeding dogs is not recommended as it's use has not been evaluated in this group. Previcox should not be given with other NSAIDs such as aspirin, carprofen, etodolac, deracoxib, meloxicam or tepoxalin. Previcox should not be given with corticosteroids such as prednisone, cortisone, dexamethasone or triamcinolone.
